All natural stone tiles are subject to variations which are to be expected and can occur with shade, texture and markings. The photo in this brochure should only be used to give an approximate idea of the appearance of the stone. We recommend that you make any buying decision based on viewing of actual material.
When ordering material it is important to ensure it is graded so that it blends harmoniously. Please note that some products will arrive damp, and this often changes the appearance of the stone, making the tiles look darker. It is also essential that tiles are completely dry prior to installation to be able to asses any colour variation. We recommend that at the time of ordering a 10% allowance is made for wastage which can occur in transportation, site handling and cutting.
The dimensions listed are nominal, and small variations in size and particular thickness can occur, so grading is important, in order to install the thickest tiles first to establish the finished floor level. Thinner tiles can be bedded up with adhesive.
Material should be inspected and unpacked carefully (ensure that tiles are secured before cutting the banding), then cleaned prior to fixing as they will have residue from the production process.
All natural stone tiles are porous to some extant and will need to be sealed with an appropriate product ensuring that maintenance of the stone is much easier. Please speak to our sales staff or your sealant manufacture for advice on this.
